What WordUp does well
WordUp is the household name for visual English. People open it to look up a word, see an image, and browse a large lexicon. If you want a beautiful visual dictionary in your pocket, that product already exists and is more established than Wordera.
Where Wordera is a different tool
Wordera is not trying to be a bigger dictionary. It is a coach: you pick a pack, and the app tells you what to do today.
11+, IELTS, GRE, SAT, Cambridge, school and work packs — the word stream follows the exam or course you actually have.
Learn, Test and Play are one journey. You do not have to decide whether to browse or to revise.
Word Weave and Sentence Builder use the active pack, so a round is still 11+ or IELTS practice.
Save words as you go, quiz the list, share with a code or QR — useful for a class or a sibling.
Honest limits
Wordera is iOS-only. WordUp reaches more platforms. WordUp’s catalogue is older and broader as a lookup experience. Wordera’s public App Store footprint is still small: 0 US ratings and 1 UK rating. That is the opposite of a vanity metric, and we would rather say it than invent “trusted by thousands.”
If WordUp is already the app you finish every day, you do not need a moral reason to switch. Switch if you want exam packs and a scheduled illustrated review loop. Start with the 11+ pack or IELTS pack if that is the deadline on the fridge.
